Lionsgate’s latest film in the YA action franchise, ‘The Hunger Games Movies: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,’ has raked in an impressive $5.75 million at the box office. It is expected that the prequel will earn nearly $50 million in its debut by the end of this week, with some predictions ranging between $60 million and $45 million.

Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on Suzanne Collins’ 2020 novel of the same name, ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ marks the franchise’s first film in eight years. Set more than 60 years before the 10th Hunger Games Movies, it delves into the backstory of a young Coriolanus Snow, who later becomes the president of Panem, impacting Katniss Everdeen’s life significantly.
