Government's action against cyber crime, lakhs of SIMs are going to be closed
Online Fraud: The increasing online fraud and cyber crime across the country remains a matter of concern for the government. Against which big action is now being taken by the government. Due to which more than 18 lakh suspicious SIMs are going to be closed in the country. Let us tell you that the number of mobile phone based cyber crimes is continuously increasing in the country. According to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), due to increasing crimes, victims of digital financial fraud suffered a loss of approximately ₹ 10 crore in 2023. According to a report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, more than 694,000 complaints have been received in 2023.
